Why Goal Setting and Resolutions Alone Don’t Work

Yes, I have talked a lot over the years about goal setting and resolutions. We have had speakers on these subjects at WIW events. Many of the women in our group coach individuals on goal setting. But hear me out before you get your panties in a bunch and call me a hypocrite . . . As the saying goes, you would never head out on a road trip without a GPS or map so why should you venture out in life without a plan? You can pull out your journal … [Read more...]

Overheard at the NH Conference for Women!

A Message from WIW Founder, Leslie Sturgeon   “I can’t believe how friendly and happy everyone is.” “I feel like I’m in a supportive sisterhood with complete strangers.” “It’s so cool that we can learn while having fun and celebrating.” “I learned from Randy Pierce that despite obstacles, you can conquer anything.” “Where else can you go, be inspired, learn and then dance? Simply amazing energy.” “I am going to stop saying … [Read more...]

Live Free and Thrive at the NH Conference for Women

I Lie To Myself. Do You? I often tell myself that "I'm fine. I got this. No big deal. I am woman, hear me roar." But the reality is sometimes that is just plain BS, and I don't feel like I'm living the life I had envisioned. Can any of you relate? Do you often say, "I'll start tomorrow when I'm done taking care of things for others or when I'm caught up?"  That is why I am bringing Mel Robbins to our NH Conference for Women n November … [Read more...]

Lessons Learned from a Serial Entrepreneur

The year was 1989 and a 22-year-old woman with an itch to challenge herself embarked on her entrepreneurial journey. That woman was me. I was young, shy, enthusiastic and perhaps even somewhat naïve as to the road ahead of me. There were twists, hairpin turns, frost heaves, speed bumps and detours but 25 years later, I’m celebrating the fact that I not only survived, but thrived. And did I ever learn some lessons along the way!! Build it … [Read more...]

My Journey to Self-Care

Nearly a month ago I shared some of the challenges that I have had over the last few years that led to somewhat of a meltdown in early March. As the saying goes, “you have to have a breakdown to have a breakthrough” and boy was that ever the case! Here is a link to the blog I wrote about it. First I have to say THANK YOU for loving and supporting me through all of this. I was so nervous to share my “mess” for fear of being ridiculed or judged … [Read more...]

Being Raw and Vulnerable . . .

A Note from Leslie Sturgeon WIW Founder I love Robin Roberts of Good Morning America. She is strong, focused, funny and just plain cool. Over the years when facing challenges, she has reiterated her mantra of "Make Your Mess Your Message." It is with this in mind that I'm being raw and vulnerable today. Deep breath, here goes: My mess: I am terrible at self-care and in this area I don't practice what I preach to my WIW community. My … [Read more...]

Oodles of Gratitude!

Looking out at the sea of fabulous women at our recent NH Conference for Women reminded me of why I created this organization . . . women coming together for education, a little bit of fun and to cheer each other on! Never could I have imagined that because of all of these women that our group would grow to become the largest of its kind in New Hampshire. Everywhere we turn people are willing to lend a hand to help us (and you) be successful - … [Read more...]
