Cue the confetti, crank up the music, and pop the bubbly—Women Inspiring Women is turning 18 and it’s officially an adult! (In full disclosure, I like the idea of confetti, but please don’t throw any on me LOL).
As I reflect on this milestone, I’m filled with immense gratitude for what this community has become. What began as a creative spark – and a desire to build the kind of organization I wished existed for me – took shape with a kick-off gathering in my beloved Lakes Region. Since then, it has grown into a powerful force for connection, education, and support for women throughout New Hampshire—and far beyond.
This milestone also coincides with another personal one: 36 years since I began my entrepreneurial journey at just 22 years old. Over the decades, I’ve learned that business ownership isn’t just about strategy—it’s about resilience, grit, creativity, reinvention, heart – and most importantly, the people! Every high and low has been part of the path that led me to this vibrant community and the work I feel most called to do.
One of the greatest honors and best parts of this wild ride has been witnessing Women Inspiring Women grow in tandem with the remarkable women who breathe life into it. We bloom. We bend. We grow. We break open and begin again. We smile. We laugh. We shift. We hurt. We fix our crowns and keep going. Through seasons of joy and challenge, this community continues to be a soft place to land, a strong place to rise, and a sacred space where women are reminded they matter – and they aren’t alone.
That’s why I’m thrilled to share that we are officially relaunching Inspiration Nation—our signature membership experience—designed to deliver personal growth, encouragement, and sisterhood straight to your inbox and heart. This refreshed version includes new resources, honest conversations, and the kind of support that meets you exactly where you are.
And because we believe women are magic, multifaceted, slightly mysterious and impossible to put in one box, we’re also pulling back the veil on a bold new initiative: Behind the Pink Curtain. This brand-new series dives into the real, raw, and often unspoken aspects of being a woman. It’s a space where we’ll talk about everything we don’t always say out loud – from body image to burnout, relationships to reinvention, menopause to mood swings, hot flashes to hormones, and yes . . . even orgasms, romance, and ecstasy. Nothing is off limits. Oh yes, we’re going “there.” Grab a fan and a glass of wine – it’s about to get hot (and not just from the hot flashes). No filters. No fluff. Just real talk about the wild, wonderful ride of being a woman. Buckle up.
Here’s another truth: I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without this community. Every event, every conversation, every woman who’s walked this journey with me – you’ve been part of my becoming in ways I never could’ve imagined. You’ve inspired me, challenged me, lifted me, held me, and reminded me what’s possible when women come together with open hearts and fierce determination.
So here’s to 18 years of WIW. To 36 years of entrepreneurship. To rising, redefining, relaunching—and doing it together.

Leslie Sturgeon is the spirited founder of Women Inspiring Women, and has been described as a reformed shy girl, a serial entrepreneur, a tireless leader of women in New Hampshire, a crazy dog lover and as someone who tackles life’s challenges head on with a positive attitude. She has spent her life learning about herself, taking massive action outside of her comfort zone and lived to talk about it. Leslie has “been there” and continues to transform into the best version of herself right along side you.
