Mary Murphy is the first in the nation Independent Branch Leader for Charles Schwab, selected from a pool of more than 3000 candidates. Prior to managing Schwab’s Nashua office, Murphy was a financial advisor and career agent with MassMutual Financial Group in Bedford, NH, providing clients with investing advice and financial plans, in addition to working with clients on developing asset and income protection strategies. Mary was also a financial advisor with UBS Financial Services in Manchester, NH. She has had articles on financial topics published both locally and nationally. Mary also volunteers with WIFE.org running their women’s financial literacy program – the Southern NH Women’s Money Club where she educates women on a variety of financial topics from budgeting to reading the financial news to how to negotiate buying a car or a home.
Before entering the financial services industry, Mary was a teacher at Manchester West High School where she taught mathematics to special needs students and mentored the school’s student investment club taking her teams to the top on 2 consecutive years. In 2006, she was nominated for Manchester West High School “Teacher of the Year.” Prior to teaching, Mary was an Executive Vice President for International Marketing with IBM.
