DEBBIE KARDASESKI
Debbie Kardaseski, owner of Debbie K Graphics, is finally beginning to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a “starving artist”! Well, hopefully not exactly starving — but it may be a good opportunity to lose some weight! This past year has seen some major changes in Debbie’s life. After a long and heroic battle against cancer, her Dad passed away on July 1, 2015. To every cloud there is a silver lining and the silver — no, the gold lining to this cloud was the opportunity to spend a great deal of time with her father near the end. It was a wonderful, though bittersweet time. It was a learning experience and led to an epiphany: it was time to tackle those lifelong dreams.

“I realized it was time to do all the things I had put off until I got old,” said Debbie, “I was there…old!” And, as Dad always said, “Nobody gets out alive.” Dad was a very wise man. Within three months of his passing, she had signed up for colored pencil drawing lessons with local artist, Marilee Sundius. Marilee has forced Debbie to push the envelope with her artwork, drawing items avoided in the past (like leaves!). Her work, especially “Number Please,” shows her love of detail. Six months later, Debbie has become a member of the Lakes Region Art Association (LRAA)! She’ll have a piece of her work titled “Number Please” on display at the NH Telephone Museum’s “The ART of Conversation” show, which begins May 1 and runs through the summer. In addition, she plans on exhibiting at the LRAA’s annual member show held at VynnArt Gallery, Meredith in July.

Her “paying” job continues to be graphic design as owner of Debbie K Graphics, located in Franklin, NH. We are so proud of you, Debbie, and are so inspired by you!
