claire& dougClaire Moorehead is one of our charter members having come to our kick-off celebration in May 2007. You will often see her tending to all sorts of details at our Inspiring Women in Business and NH Conference for Women events and over the years she has devoted hundreds of hours to lending a hand whenever one is needed. It gives us great pleasure to introduce you to this remarkable woman . . .

Recently we sat down for a little girl talk with Claire and this is what she said:

Why were you drawn to WIW?

I was a ‘woman in transition’ and trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up!

What is your favorite quote?

Live Simply, Love Generously, Care Deeply, & Speak Kindly

What is the last book you read?

Janet Evanovich’s “NOTORIOUS NINETEEN.”  I love that series and anxiously awaiting number 20!

Do you have a celebrity crush?

Mark Harmon is yummy!

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Well – I’m sure it was from my mom as she shared so many words of wisdom over the years. One thing I remember was that she always told me she loved me – no matter what. It was a game to see who could get the last “Love you more” in…. So I guess it would be to “never miss a chance to tell your family you love them.” Love you more mom!

What is your best memory of WIW?

Wow… so many good ones. But that very first event I attended that made me realize it’s ok to make changes in your life and that you aren’t alone in doing that! And that is probably tied with my very first one-on-one meeting (a lunch date) with Leslie Sturgeon. She made me feel valued and respected.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

That I am really kind of shy… kind of a ‘home-body’ and comfortable with being the “behind the scenes” person

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

HMMM… so many to choose from… but thinking off the top of my head – the ability to ‘heal’ people, animals – living things.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could have only 1 item, what would it be?

I can never answer this question! It makes you want to say something really smart and sensible… maybe something that could save you… but really? Probably a good friend to keep me company!

The biggest lesson I have learned in life is…

Be careful who you trust and share with… sadly, I learned this the hard way!

My guilty pleasure is…

GOOD coffee (check out Mad River Coffee Roasters- shameless plug) and of course CHOCOLATE – dark chocolate covered almonds… yummy

Anything else you would like to share?

In my wonderful sunny home office I have a sign I look at every day. My dearest friends gave it to me as I started this new adventure in life… it says… “It’s never too late to change what you want to be when you grow up”. It just fits so perfectly!
